Preview: Cards for Little Hearts

Hi everyone! Hope the weekend is going well.

Last December, blogland friend Christina Hor sponsored a holiday card drive for the heart patients at Nationwide Children's.

Christina's getting a head start on this year's holiday season by hosting a Christmas-in-July-and-August card drive. Since I'm honored to be a stop on an upcoming card drive hop, I thought I'd take advantage of a little lull in challenge deadlines to make a card that will be going to Christina's kids.   :)

Doodlebug Designs north pole; Stampin' Up! black; stash red and green
Tim Holtz crazy dog images, stamped in Distress Ink black soot and colored with Prismacolor pencils
Memory Box stencil, inked in DI hickory smoke using a Ranger blending tool
Studio g sentiments in DI black soot
Creative Memories oval cutting system; Paper Smooches scallop die
non-furry elements highlighted with Glossy Accents

I've had this sentiment for a while. And, when these little pups came out last year, I knew their little faces just screamed "Uh-oh, Santa!" Pairing a crazy pup with this sentiment is a favorite holiday card thing for me to do. I thought this would make a fun card for an older child.

Today's card was inspired by the current Mojo Monday sketch. I took quite a bit of liberty with the two circular elements, changing them to ovals and making them much larger to accommodate the sentiment. Oh, yeah, I rotated it, too. LOL

Parting Thoughts

There's a Punches and/or Die Cuts 4 Kids challenge over at Send a Smile 4 Kids, a NUMBER MOUSE Challenge over at Words 2 Craft By, and a Candy Cane Challenge at Sparkles Christmas. We'd love to see your handiwork in our galleries.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!   :)
