Cards for Little Hearts Card Drive

Hi, everyone! Today, I'm thrilled to be a part of a blog hop for a Cards for Little Hearts card drive.

Christina Hor is collecting handmade cards to be given to pediatric heart patients at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Central Ohio by staff members this upcoming holiday season.

So, Christina has organized this hop to let fellow card makers know about the card drive.   :)

Blog Hop Stops

Blog Hop Prizes  What's a blog hop without some prizes... right? Here's some info.

Card Drive Information

  • The drive is open to U.S. and international participants. Cards can be made by anyone, including children and students.
  • This is a holiday/winter card drive that runs until August 25th.
  • Card Details:
    • Finished cards should be A2 size (4.25" x 5.5").
    • Cards should be fun and cheerful, appropriate for winter wishes or general holiday wishes.
      • Holiday cards should be non-religious. Please do not include religious symbols, themes, or sentiments.
      • Please do not send cards with "get well" or "feel better" sentiments.
    • Cards should be appropriate for children as young as 1 year, up to young adults. Please do not use embellishments that could come loose and become choking hazards, such as buttons, sequins, rhinestones, or brads.
    • Instead of glitter, which could also come loose, please use Wink of Stella, glitter paste, glitter tape, etc.
    • Cards should be blank on the inside -- and cards with dark bases should have white or light colored liners -- so that staff members can write personal messages to the kids.
  • Card Drive Prizes:
    • Christina and fellow hopper Donna Ellis are offering digital stamp sets to everyone who sends in at least one card by August 27.
    • And, Christina is awarding prizes that will be randomly awarded to lucky donors, including a special prize package for one lucky cardmaker who sends in 50+ cards.
  • Shipping Information:

Parting Thoughts

Thanks so much for checking out my stop on the hop. Next up is the uber-talented Sandra.

After you finish hopping, we'd love for you to make a card for our drive. Just one card touches so many people: the staff member who writes that personal note, the child who receives a special card made just for him/her, and the family members who see a big smile on that little face.

Thank you for your support of the pediatric patients at Nationwide Children's.
