happy holly days

Hi, everyone! Happy Tuesday!

Today should be a fun one around here. I'm headed thrift store shopping with a friend who lives in our villa complex this morning, and then the two of us are taking in a movie tonight. :)

Today's card was inspired by the current Jingle Belles The Holly and The Ivy Challenge. Now that I'm crafting from the road on a more regular basis -- as well as playing along with Christmas challenges the year round, I try to throw in a pack of holiday dp and one or two festive stamp sets. Fortunately, I'm able to play along with JB because my paper pad had a sliver of holly paper left.  :)

Kaiser Merry & Bright dp; Stampin' Up! mossy meadow and crumb cake card stock
Winnie & Walter happy cutaway; W&W big bold Christmas stamp set
sentiment and touches of gold, heat embossed with Versamark and Recollections gold powder
SU stitched oval die; Paper Smooches holly dies
Cuttlebug embossing folder; Really Reasonable Ribbon gold thread
adhesives: Scotch ATG; Zots gold dot; foam backing
I did a bit of partial die cutting so that the tail of the y in "happy" was trimmed off so this sentiment would fit inside the oval. And, I brushed the holly leaves -- and dabbed the holly dp -- with a Versamark pen to heat emboss some gold accents.

I'm going to link this up for the Cards in Envy Keep It Simple Challenge -- crossing my fingers that it's simple enough for the challenge. :)

Parting Thoughts

A new challenge starts tomorrow at Words 2 Craft By. Hope you'll have a chance to play along.

Have a great day! Until next time, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
