W2CB #58: Now for October Eves

Hi, everyone! It's the second Wednesday of the month, which means it's time for a new Words 2 Craft By Challenge!

Our October/November words come to us from Humbert Wolfe.

Listen!
The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves,
We have had our summer evenings,
now for October eves.

The card  below, which is a thank you for neighbors who did a big favor for us, was inspired by the leaves portion of the quote. It seemed like a perfect opportunity to break in that Simon Says Leaf Frame die that I just had to have. LOL

Strathmore watercolor paper; Stampin' Up! neutral cardstock
Winnie & Walter Big, Bold sentiment stamped in Versamark black onyx ink
Simon Says You Matter sentiment, heat embossed with Versamark and SU copper embossing powder
SS Leafy Frame die, cut from Distress-Inked watercolor paper
SU various punches for tiny circles
Sorry about the quality of this pic.

  • We are getting quite a bit of pre-Michael rain, and there's no sun to be found. (Guess that's the price I pay for not getting this card made sooner. Right?) Since it's kind of hard to see the copper embossing on the leaves and next to impossible to see the sentiment, I took a close up pic.
  • And, don't ask me how I came out with that taupe-ish/mauve'ish color. I kept inking and inking and this was the result. Not sure how I feel about it. But, it is what it is.

Hope you'll stop by Words 2 Craft By to check out our amazing I-Team's cards... and then stop back by to link up a project/card of your very own. As always, there's a $10 gift certificate up for grabs to the winner's favorite online store.

See you in the W2CB Gallery. Thanks for stopping and happy crafting!

  1. Love the purple inking! And that die sets off the sentiment beautifully.

  2. Love this gorgeous card Sybrina! Sorry I missed the deadline again. I had a card ready and completely flaked on posting it and sending you my link.

  3. Absolutely love your card, Sybrina. That leaf frame die is fab., and I can't see why you are worried about the taupeish/mauveish colours...they're lovely. Many autumn leaves have those tones.

    Hugs,
    Jennifer.
