The official theme this month is Anything Goes Cards 4 Kids. That's right... ANY kiddie-appropriate card.
Crafting friend Anna loaned me her entire stash of Elizabeth Craft Dog Days stamps and dies so that I could make a birthday card for hubby. When Anna showed me these dies, I started thinking about making a birthday card that would feature our family's new fur baby. Thanks so much, Anna! Hubby LOVED his card. Friends who have seen our pup have been pretty impressed by the card's likeness to our boy... who is a lot more tan-colored than the photo to the right shows. :)
Hope you will hop over to Send a Smile 4 Kids to check out all our DT's cards. (Even though our official theme is Anything Goes, you will notice that the team focused on birthday cards this month.) Then stop back by to link up ANY kiddie-appropriate card of your own. You have until noon on Friday, September 4 to play along. :)
As always, thanks for stopping! Happy Scrappin'!!!

Oh my gosh, your birthday pup is adorable! Love his little hat and collar. And congrats on the new fur baby, he looks so sweet. ❤️ What did you name him?
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie!
DeleteWe brought Toby back with us from South Carolina. Turns out we had to say our final goodbye to our beloved Brody and just couldn't stand the quiet.
Toby is 6.5 years old. He had been surrendered to a shelter. The reason given was the owner had to move and couldn't keep Toby because of barking. He is a barker but we don't know if the owner moved, or passed, or couldn't afford the upkeep of a dog in this economy. Who knows? But he had been in two shelters for a total of 12 weeks until he came home with us.
He is an absolute delight. Perfect for us. His only real issue is that he doesn't like anyone getting too close to us physically. And he's serious about it. He is 13% Akita, which is a Japanese guard dog, who had been surrendered by his previous family. He is bound determined nothing is going to happen to us.
Toby's DNA results showed him to be about equal parts Tiberan Terrier, Border Collie, Minuature Short-hair Dachshund, and "Ultimutt" (13% of which is Akita). In addition to be hyper protective, he is sweet, playful (loves toys), cuddly... and has started exhibiting a confident, independent side to his personality.
Thanks so much for asking about him. :)
You've gotta love crafty friends who will let you raid their stash, right? This card is fabulous, Sybrina! I'm 100% sure the hubs loved it.
