CIE Fall Colors

Hi, everyone! I'm here with a card for the newest Cards in Envy challenge.  :)

To create the punkin card shown below, I used three shades of orange, inking the edges of each section in addition to using three different embossing folders. And, my thanks to the Unity Stamp folks for those fun one-minute videos, one of which taught me the secret behind tying this bow.  :)

As much as I love the punkin and sentiment, it took a while for me to find just the right background. I started with some fun Cosmo Cricket pattern paper, then swapped it out for some Distress Ink dusty concord. But, it wasn't until I put some Distress Ink green behind the punkin that I felt the oranges popped. The background layer of black was the final touch needed for this card's colors to be the stars they were meant to be.

Naturally, this card will be going to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus -- one of many cards going to Children's thanks to Send a Smile 4 Kids.

As I mentioned in the video, I used one of Elizabeth O. Dulemba's illustrations as the template for the shape of my punkin.
