CIE Creepy Crawlies

Well, it's been a difficult weekend for friends on both coasts -- for entirely different reasons. Thoughts and prayers to everyone dealing with unforeseen difficulties and challenges.

 A New CIE Challenge

The calendar shows it's the first Monday of the month. Guess it's time for another Cards in Envy challenge.

And here's a photo of my one-googly-eyed spider.  :)

There are so many things I love about this card -- and I used quite a few items that had been stashed away for a while.

• The little spider came from Pizazz It, a gone-but-still-beloved LSS. All it was missing was a googly eye and a little Glossy-Accent shine.  :)
• The green designer paper was in a stack of paper purchased at a garage sale several years ago.
• The spider web texture on the orange cardstock was made using an impression plate, that was purchased at my very first crafting garage sale.
• And, the lettering came from some a sheet of Creative Memories alphabet stickers that have to be at least ten years old. As you can see, these stickers were originally blue, and I colored them with a black Sharpie. There's also a photo showing how I used a ruler to line up the stickers.

The tops of stickers were attached to the bottom edge of a ruler to help with alignment.

The decision to use the colored alphabet stickers was an easy one. However, I struggled with the speech bubble. I first planned on going with a white bubble. But, that really took attention away from the creepy crawler star of this card. Finally, I had the idea to go with orange so that the bubble would blend in with the background paper -- but used white and black bubbles to give it just enough of a presence.
