It's the second Wednesday of the month, which means it's time for a new Words 2 Craft By challenge! A big thanks to everyone who joined in the fun for the first challenge at our "new" blog... and to all our crafty friends who followed us to our new URL.
This month's words are:
I can promise all my heart's devotion;
A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow;
A love that's true and ever growing;
A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow.
Mark Twain
And here's the card that was inspired by those words.

My card is a Valentine to my hubby. When I read this month's words, I thought about how I wanted to convey their meaning in this year's Valentine. This Unity quote seems to capture my feelings perfectly. I am happy with our today, excited about our tomorrow, and grateful for our forever. :)
Rather than going with a traditional red background, I went with a more subdued palette for hubby's card -- using Distress Inks to create a dreamy, ethereal background. After embossing the inked paper, I added a vellum sentiment strip (using vellum to not cover up the background) and matted it on black to pop these pretty colors. The background and vellum techniques were inspired by last year's Background Online Card Class.
This W2CB Challenge will be open until the first Wednesday of March. Hope you'll stop by W2CB to check our ladies' amazing creations and then return to link up a card/project. While most of our entries our cards, we are equal-opportunity crafters and welcome all forms of creative inspiration. :)
Thanks for stopping and happy
