Greetings from the North Pole's Most Famous Resident!

Hi, everyone!

Hope you all had a nice weekend... and resisted the urge to eat too much chocolate. Of course, my motto is, "Chocolate, it's just not for breakfast any more!" And, the sentiment on the birthday card going out to my friend Linda is, "All you need in life is a friend with chocolate." (Thanks to little Sophie Diehl for these sweet -- pun intended -- words.)

Get the idea that I like chocolate... a little bit too much!

Before sharing today's card, thanks to Celeste Goff and her friend-in-craft Becky for their sweet box of cards. This adorable box of cards had something for everyone... from flying-high planes to colorful unicorns. The kids are going to love these works of heart. Thanks so much, Celeste, for thinking of the kids at Nationwide Children's.  :)

Greetings from the Big Man Himself

The original inspiration for today's card came from this week's Sketch Saturday sketch.

Then I saw the Santa Baby Challenge over at Jingle Belles and decided to try layering some of that Stampin' Up! designer paper that was way too underused this past holiday season.

The resulting card will be going to SAS4Kids. Surprise, surprise... huh?!   :)

Stampin' Up! dp; Recollections black; Distress Ink fired brick core
dies: Paper Smooches holly; Spellbinders Nestabilities scallop
SU cupcake punch; Creative Memories circle cutting system
SU twine; Glossy Accents

The little Santa is really adorable. I fussy cut him from one of the papers in the collection and then Glossy-Accented him -- that's a word, right? -- to help him stand out even more.

Since this is a card intended for a child, I'm also sharing it over at Winter Wonderland.

Parting Thoughts

Well, the Wildcats, Tar Heels, Orange, and Sooners are the only ones still dancing. And, at the other party, it looks like nobody can kick up their heels quite as well as the UConn women. As for my favorite teams and coaches... Well, let's just say that we're waiting for next year.

There are some great challenges going on over at some of my favorite challenge blogs: For the Boys at SAS4Kids, Just Purple at CIE, and She Began to Fly at W2CB. And, don't forget about those Simon Says Stamp gift certificates that hostess Annie is offering this month at W2CB.  :)

As always, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!

  4. Love your fabulous vintage looking Santa card! And thank you for the shout out on the cards! I had so much fun making them for the kids! My granddaughter spent two and a half weeks in the NICU at Cardinal Glennon in St. Louis right after she was born and I know what a harrowing experience it is, not just for the kids, but their families too. So, anything I can do to help brighten a child's day and put a smile on their face and the faces of their families and the nurses caring for them makes me a happy person!
