Spring Colors 4 Kids

Hi, everyone! It's amazing how a little sunshine can really get the mojo going, isn't it!

The card I have to share was inspired by four challenges.

 Today's Card: free hugs

Now, for my card!  I experimented with a little layering of vellum a week or so ago and wanted to revisit this technique. This time, I used masking to overlap vellum layers and create various colors.

Strathmore watercolor paper; Stampin' Up! Botanical Gardens vellum pack; Bazzill blackPaper Smooches Comforting Hugs stamp set
Distress Ink mustard seed, peacock feathers, picked raspberry applied with Ranger blending tool
Twinery twine; circles: SU owl builder punch
adhesives: Scotch ATG; Zots glue dots; Ranger multi medium matte

There was quite a bit of masking involved in creating these yellow, green, blue, and pinkish purple colors.

Top Layer (aka Tag) is masked to ink up pup in picked raspberry.

Sticky notes are used to create template for cutting tag corners.

Tag location is masked on bottom layer to apply mustard seed to negative space.

Middle layer is inked in peacock feathers.

Middle and bottom layers are layered, placing glue dots under black circles in all four corners.

Since this is my first time masking with vellum, I'm linking this little pup up to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog's Take a Leap Into the Unknown Challenge. And, since the vellum, twine, and banner add quite a bit of texture, I'm linking up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog's Get Touchy Challenge. Finally, since the card has an uplifting sentiment, I'm linking up to the current Anything Goes Challenge over at Word Art Wednesday

Parting Thoughts

Looking forward to a little sunshine tomorrow. And, looking forward to new CIE and W2CB challenges this week.

Have a great rest of the weekend. Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!

  5. Aww, this is so cute! We are so blessed with your participation in our previous Challenge and would love to have you back for our current Challenge at Word Art Wednesday. I want to share with you the inspiration of God's Word from Habakkuk 2:3-4 and it says, " For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. “See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright— but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness---." Have an awesome week!
