Girly, Shimmery Butterflies

Hi, everyone! I'm here today to share a card we made in Colette's Technique Tuesday class.  :)

Stampin' Up! products
butterfly and flower coloring in Prismacolor pencils
Wink of Stella and Uni-Bsll gold pen accents; stash sequins

We made the card base last night and stamped major elements last night. Today, I added a little color to the flowers, a little more color to the butterflies, some gold accents around the scalloped centerpiece, and a few shiny sequins.

I've made gate cards before, but this closure was new for me. I just love the way the circle on the right fits through the opening of the scalloped piece on the left. Great idea... an idea I'm sure to use again!

And, luck was definitely on my side. My on-the-road-stash butterfly options were rather limited. Colette provided a perfect card for the current Butterfly Beauty Challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog. I'm also linking this up to the current Make It Girlie Challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog.

 Parting Thoughts

There are two more weeks to play along with our April/May challenge over at Words 2 Craft By. Chances are pretty good at winning one of those Paper Smooches gift certificates!

Hope the rest of the week goes well. Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
