A Brightly Colored Christmas Card

Hi, everyone! Hope the week is off to a great start.

So what's the best day of the year? Well, if the laughter and smiles we saw out at various establishments about town today are any indication, the best day of the year is the last day of school -- aka the start of summer vacation! It was indeed a time to celebrate around noon at the Wendy's across the street from a local middle school. Kind of felt like being on lunch duty. LOL

While kids might vote the last day of school as their favorite day of the year, many adults would chose Christmas. Today I have a card inspired by three different challenges.

Doodlebug Designs north pole dp; black and white Recollections cardstock
Hero Arts image, heat embossed with Versamark in Ranger evergreen embossing powder
Really Reasonable Ribbon red ribbon and stash white polka dot ribbon
silver Stickles; stash sequins; Paper Studio teeny clearance brads
Paper Smooches bow die, slightly trimmed
red and brown Sharpie markers
adhesives: Scotch ATG; Ranger multi medium matte; Recollection foam squares

The bow and brad ornaments were originally white and colored with a red Sharpie to get the same color red for both. The tree patterned paper on the right was my third choice, starting with large polka dots and then smaller polka dots before deciding to go with the trees. The white polka dot ribbon was a late addition. I was playing with ideas to make the embossed tree stand out more when I realized I just needed to tone down the red ribbon.

This card will be going to Nationwide Children's and was inspired by the following challenges:

Parting Thoughts

There is just over a week to play along at Words 2 Craft By -- with a $10 MFT gift certificate up for grabs. In addition, there is one more week to play along with the masculine challenge at Cards in Envy.

Have a great rest of the week! Only three more days until the three-day holiday weekend.

As always, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
