My Kind of Heat Wave!

Hi, everyone!

Hope you're staying cool if you're caught up in the current heat wave. It was actually pretty nice around here today, but the heat is supposed to be returning later this week.

But, the Heat Wave going on at Online Card Class... Well, that's a totally different story. Any day is a great day to melt some embossing powder. :)

Today's card uses the iron-off resist embossing technique shared by Kristina on Day 3.

Strathmore watercolor paper; Recollections black; Distress Ink dusty concord core
Simon Says stencil, inked with DI milled lavender, seedless preserves, faded jeans
Stampendous silver tinsel embossing powder, heat embossed using Versamark ink
Paper Smooches (graceful beauties) sentiment; Paper Studio tiny brads

I tried the batik version of this technique a couple of days ago. This time, however, I ended up with more of a flaky glittery result. Not sure if the difference is due to the use of watercolor paper (a less smooth surface) and/or a different brand of powder. Darn it! Guess I'm going to have to do a little more experimenting.   :)
Parting Thoughts

RESERVE Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps 2016 CRAZY DOGS CMS271. Product Type: Stamps & Stamping. Tim Holtz Stamps Crafting & Stamping Supplies fromCrazy Dogs are here! Crazy Dogs are here! Crazy Dogs are here! And, I can't wait to ink one of these up for hubby's birthday card -- I think I have the perfect sentiment in mind. (And, yes, regular readers will note that this is the second time I've broken my no-new-online die and stamp resolution. Darn you, Tim Holtz and Kristina Werner! I just couldn't say no to the crazy dogs. According to hubby, I'm in a cult, and there's no hope for me. From my perspective, a tally of two stamp sets and no dies in six and a half months is pretty impressive. LOL)

Speaking of Crazy Dogs, a huge shout-out to Simon Says for getting these here so quickly. I reserved them last week, and they were scheduled to ship July 18. Well, ship they did... and these cuties were waiting for me in today's mail delivery!

There are several great challenges just waiting for you to play along. I'm hoping to get to the SAS4Kids Challenge tomorrow. Turns out I needed to make a sympathy card first.

It's a Heat Wave!

Just Keep Swimming!

Have a great week. Stay cool, unless the heat is heat gun generated.  :)

As always, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
