Sparkles Christmas #66: Snowflakes

Hi, everyone! I am very excited to be joining the Sparkles Christmas Team as a Guest Designer for the next few months. Huge thanks to Caz for the invitation.  :)

For our July Sparkles Christmas Challenge, Pat has chosen a perennial favorite -- Snowflakes!

Any time I hear snowflakes, my thoughts immediately go to a gorgeous Hero Arts snowflake background stamp that I bought years ago. To create the card below, I embossed the snowflakes with white powder, applied some rich Distress Inks to pop the snowflakes, and added a little sparkle on an inked-up vellum sentiment strip.

Strathmore watercolor paper; DCWV blue matstack; Stampin' Up! vellum
Hero Arts stunning snowflakes background stamp; Winnie & Walter sentiment
snowflakes: heat embossed with Versamark ink and SU white embossing powder
silver elements: heat embossed with Versamark (pad and pen) and StampNStuff silver embossing powder
inking in Distress Inks (seedless preserves, peacock feathers, chipped sapphire) applied with Ranger blending tool
My Favorite Things mini snowflake dies
adhesives: Scotch ATG; Zots glue dots; Ranger multi medium matte

Snowflakes in July... it doesn't get better than that when it comes to Christmas challenges. Hope you'll join us for some snowy summer fun. And, Sandra is offering three Cuttlebug embossing folder for our July Spotlight Winner!

Thanks for stopping, happy scrappin', and see you over at Sparkles Christmas.   :)
