But, the holiday festivities are what I'm most thankful for today. Highlights included a barbecue lunch with our dads and going to fireworks with my dad. It was really nice to have a little father-daughter time. :)
Count Your Rainbows
It was also inspired by a recent Jennifer McGuire block stamping technique video. For this card, I chose the one layer, add a tag, rainbow option.
- In her video, Jennifer used a block to smoosh her inks. However, I tried the technique using a Paper Smooches mirror block stamp and am pleased with the results. I then drew black lines around the smooshed rectangle to add a little definition to the space.
- I created a tag by piercing a hole in dic-cut speech two-layer bubble shape.
- To stay true to the one layer part of the challenge, I used tiny stamps -- not sequins or enamel spots -- to create the tiny blue, orange, and red circles around the tag.
- The tag's sentiment is masked from one of the Kid Quote stamps.
Hope this isn't too literal of a rainbow interpretation for the CAS-ual Fridays gals. Think I'll also share this over at the Simon Says Summer Sunshine Challenge at Simon Says Stamp. Summer rains that bring colorful rainbows.... that should work, right?!
That's it for tonight. So, have a nice evening, thanks for stopping, and happy scrappin'!
You did a beautiful job with your homework (if you will) from JM's tutorial, Sybrina! I think this is stunning! I love the way you outlined your beautiful rainbow block and how you used itty circle stamps instead of bling. I have a million of those little stamps and have never thought to do that, so thank you for the slap-my-forehead inspiration!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteI love how you've put a little bit of rainbow on the cloud! Gorgeous! Thanks for playing along with our Tic Tac Toe challenge at CAS-ual Fridays :)
