I'm here to share a card inspired by the current Cards in Envy Green Thing and CAS-ual Fridays Going Green Challenges.
Annie used some cute monsters on her CIE card, so I chose to stamp up a few monsters of my own for a little one at Nationwide Children's. And, in keeping with the green part of each challenge, I used green exclusively for these little guys to accentuate them against an otherwise neutral palette.
- Three different embossing folders were used to create different textures for the three planets and the largest planet's crater. (Can you tell the monsters are hiding out in a crater? Hope so. Hmmm... Maybe I should have added a few more holes to the planet's surface. The idea was for the little ones to look like they are hanging from the rim of a crater. And, I used dimensionals on each monster's head to give each one a little lift.)
- In the absence of coordinating dies, each monster was fussy cut twice, stamping on dp and white. Then they were stamped again on white to punch out those eyes, which were are enhanced with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.
- I actually would have loved to use googly eyes. When I placed googly eyes over the dp monsters the results were adorable. But, since this is headed to a children's hospital, I chose safety over cuteness.
Parting Thoughts
As I mentioned yesterday, a Women's-History-Month-inspired challenge started up Wednesday at Words 2 Craft By. There's still plenty of time to play along for a chance to win $10 to the e-tailer of your choice. Hope to see you over at W2CB.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. As always, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
