Rainbows and Butterflies

Hi, everyone! Hope it's been a great weekend.

Popping in to share a card inspired by the current CAS-ual Fridays Challenge.

For my card, I used a new set of butterfly dies, which was one of those great Tuesday Mornings find. Sadly, our local store is moving to a new location that is about 30 minutes away. Not nearly as close, not nearly as convenient. But, I'm soooo glad I snatched these up on my last trip to our local store.

Neenah shimmery, silvery white and Stampin' Up! cardstock; Strathmore watercolor paper
fired brick, worn lipstick, fossilized amber, broken china, and peacock feather Oxides
Momenta butterfly and Paper Smooches wave/scallop dies
Pretty Pink Posh sequins; Wink of Stella accents

The photo at the right shows a close up of the middle butterfly. If you look closely, you'll see there's a shimmery, silvery white butterfly directly atop the inked up watercolor paper layer. However, I felt the butterflies needed a little more pizzazz, So, I added the black butterflies.

After adding the black butterflies, I felt like the scalloped edges were getting lost. So, I then added the black layer of cardstock.

For a little extra glisten, I brushed the inky sections with Wink of Stella and added a few crystal clear sequins.

Parting Thoughts

There are still a few days left to play along with us at Words 2 Craft By. Our current challenge runs through Wednesday. And, Send a Smile 4 Kids is celebrating it's 175th challenge with a Christmas in July Blog Hop. There's a little less than a week to play along with us there.

Have a great week! Until next time, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
