This month, our country is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. Our inspiration words come to us from the plaque left on the lunar surface by the Apollo 11 astronauts.
We came in peace for all mankind.
Maybe it was because my dad worked in the aerospace industry. Maybe it was because Neil Armstrong was born and raised in Ohio. Maybe it was because this was the most incredible thing we'd ever seen. Maybe.... just maybe... it was all of that, and more. Whatever the reason(s), my family members were all glued to the television on that fateful day, bursting with pride and filled with the belief that this amazing country of ours could do anything it set its mind to.
The card below was made to bring a smile a little one celebrating his/her birthday at Nationwide Children's... and made with a heartfelt wish to once again burst with pride for this land I love.
