Actually, this is a bittersweet challenge for me... because it's my last challenge as a Sparkles Christmas DTer. Somehow I thought retirement would make it easier to keep up with challenges... but just the opposite has been true. Huge thanks to Caz for running such a fun holiday challenge blog and to the Sparkles Christmas DTers for being such wonderful teammies!!!
This month's fancy-fold theme was selected by Sparkles Christmas DTer Jane. What a great idea for a challenge! My fancy-fold card was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest from Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Cindy Malone. Thanks for some wonderful inspiration, Cindy!
Stampin' Up! cardstock and Santa's Workshop DP (and coordinating dies); white stash dp snow inking: Distress Oxide peacock feathers; snowflakes EK snowflake border punch; heart: SU owl punch |
- The first step was to work out a scoring/cutting template on a piece of scrap paper and then transferring the scores/cuts to a piece of calypso coral cardstock.
- Because of the half-scored, half-cut portions, I cut out separate snowbanks for each of the four panels... taking care to line up the ends and beginnings of each bank.
- I added a reinforcement panel to the bottom right half of the card since it needed some extra firmness to stay in place when the card folded up. Then I adhered snow banks. You can see that I added a bank of snow that runs all the way to the middle fold.
Hope you'll stop by Sparkles Christmas to check out the DTers amazing creations, and then stop back by to leave a fancy-fold creation of your very own.
