CIE Gratitude

Hi, everyone! It's time for another Cards in Envy challenge.  :)

Here's a closer look at my card. I was really pleased with how the chipboard turned out, and I like the touch of shimmer that the vellum gives.

Creative Memories dp; Stampin' Up! early espresso; stash (Bazzill) green and rust
tattered angels chipboards; Core'dinations gold vellum with stash sequins
chipboard frame heat embossed in Distress Ink walnut stain with clear embossing powder
interior of frame tinted with various Distress Inks
computer-generated sentiment

As you can see, the chipboard letters started out white. It took quite a bit of playing with ink and paper combinations before coming up with just the right look for this card's focal point. A tip to the wise: If you want to ink up chipboard like this, don't use water on them.... Not that I would have ever done that.  :)

It also took a couple of tries to get just the right font for this computer-generated sentiment. I started with Times New Roman, but quickly saw it didn't fit the look and feel of the card. I think I ended up here with French Script.

Hope you'll play along with us at CIE. Remember it's an A2 card challenge, and cards need to be light enough and flat enough to send with a standard USPS stamp.

Have a great week! Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
