CIE Let it Snow!

Hi, everyone! Welcome to a Cards in Envy Monday! Our challenge for the next couple of weeks is snow, snow, and more snow. And, with the cold temps and snow showers that moved in these last few days, this challenge couldn't be better timed!

The card below was made with Send a Smile 4 Kids in mind. And, I apologize for not having a video to share. Turns out I shipped this little snowman off to Nationwide Children's before making my video. LOL

Core'dinations blue and green; SU gray; Distress Ink rusty hinge; WRMK winter frost; Recollections black
SU snow day stamp set; Hero Arts background stamp; Stampendous sentiment in StazOn jet black
embossing in Versamark with clear powder
Paper Smooches snowman and Lawn Fawn mini flake dies
SU owl builder punch (for tiny heart)
adhesives: Scotch ATG; Ranger multi medium matte
outlining with Memento black marker and inking in black soot
I'm actually pretty pleased with the way this card turned out. It's actually a compilation of my favorite snow-related crafty things: a fabulous Hero Arts background stamp, a sweet SU snowman stamp set, some cute PS snowman dies, and some fun Lawn Fawn snowflake dies. Adding to the fun is a sentiment stamp that was a gift from a friend at work and some garage-sale bargain core paper.

The blue background is actually the reverse side of the core paper used for the snowflakes, and I really like the tone-on-tone look. The snowman -- and background snowflakes -- are heat embossed with white powder. The snowman was stamped on the same paper as the background paper and then fussy cut out, leaving a blue border around the snowman and a black-penned outline along its edge. I really do love all the texture on this cheery little card.   :)

Remember all CIE entries should be cards flat enough to fit into A2 envelopes and light enough to be sent using one USPS postage stamp.

Since this card went to Nationwide Children's, I'm going to link it up to the current Winter Fun 4 Kids Challenge over at SAS4Kids. Think I'm also going to link this little guy up to the current Shopping Our Stash Let It Snow Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Blog Die (as in Die-cember) Challenge.
