W2CB #29: Four Pieces of Pie for Five People

Hi, everyone! It's the second Wednesday of the month... which means it's a Words 2 Craft By Wednesday!

This month, we are inspired by the following Tenneva Jordan definition of motherhood.

A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people,
promptly announces she never did care for pie.

I printed a paraphrase of this quote on vellum for my card.

stash dp that was a gift from a friend; Stampin' Up! vellum
computer-generated sentiment
Spellbinders nestabilities scalloped circles
SU bow, small heart, and owl builder (for tiny circles) punches
EK triple-heart punch for larger circles
heat embossing with versamark ink in AC copper powder n scrap Canson watercolor paper

In addition to printing on vellum for the first time, this card marked the first time for using a Versamark pen. I dabbed Versamark dots inside each of the cardstock scallops and heat embossed these dots in gold. In addition, gold embossing was used for the bow, tiny circles, and three hearts.

I wanted to carry through the kitchen/baking theme but didn't have kitchen-like images or stamps. So, I used tablecloth-esque designer paper to give the card a kitchen-y feel.

Hope you'll join us over at Words 2 Craft By. The challenge is open for three weeks, and closes on June 1. There's a Guest Designer gig and $10 to My Favorite Things up for grabs for one talented crafter.  :)
