I'm here today to share a $7 card. A $7 dollar card?!!! What in the world is that, you may ask?
I think this price-per-item obsession started with my mom and our family's trips to local amusement parks. On our trips home from a day at King's Island or Cedar Point, my mom would make a list of all the rides we'd been on and shows we'd seen. It was Mom's way of justifying the cost of our outing -- making the admission ticket prices seem a little less extravagant. You see, money was tight in our household. We had everything we needed, but trips to places like amusement parks were few and far between.
It turns out I've brought this mindset to the menopause room. When I splurge on a stamp set that I really don't need but soooooo want to buy (can you say Crazy Dogs?), I keep track of the number of cards/items I make with it -- until I can tell myself that I have more than justified its expense. Yep, I've got a few issues, for sure.
I've now made three cards with my new Crazy Dogs stamps -- and the per-card price is falling. Hooray! ( BTW I'll be sharing the two other Crazy Dogs cards in upcoming CIE and W2CB Challenges.)
So, without further ado, here's today's $7 card....
This is my favorite pup in the set. Maybe it's because our high school nickname was Scots and we had a Scottie dog mascot -- so I've always had a soft spot for Scottie dogs. But, I absolutely love this little guy who appears to have a heart of gold but a brain that's all puppy. As soon as I saw him, I knew I wanted to create a card in which he were caught in the act and would need to plead his case to Santa.
- This card was inspired by the SAS4Kids Christmas in July Challenge and will be going to Nationwide Children's.
- I'm also hoping Stephanie and Lauren will be okay with me linking this up for their Jingle Belles We Three Kings Challenge -- with three being the operative word. I'm counting three knots in the twine and three gray circles. LOL
- In addition, I'm going to share this with the following Simon Says Stamp Challenges: Anything Goes (peridot), Work It Wednesday, and Add Some Texture.
Parting Thoughts
I'll be back tomorrow with Cards in Envy and Sparkles Christmas posts. Then, I'll probably be on hiatus the rest of the week -- visiting with my brother and his family.
So, enjoy the rest of your weekend. Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
This is sooo cute! That stamp set is on my wish list!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful card! It's so cute and clever with beautiful colors and texture. I love Scotty dogs too, my favorite being the Western Highlander - different dog, close kin. This is my first visit to your blog. I will tune in again.
ReplyDeleteThere's no rationality available when buying a stamp set as cute as this one (mine is on order as I type this)! LOL I LOVE the resulting card with that fantastic colored background and perfectly colored pooch! You'll reach for this stamp set time and time again I'm sure, so have fun with it and enjoy every cent you spent to get it! I know I'll do the same whenever mine gets here :) Enjoy your week ahead!

ReplyDeleteLove this card, Sybrina, and your background is awesome! So darn cute! This is also my favorite dog from the set, being partial to Cairns, Scotties and Westies. Haven't been to Cedar Point or King's Island in years, but great parks.
