Thank Heaven for Die Cuts!

Hi, everybody! Happy Weekend!

So, the challenge over at Shopping Our Stash is Cut and Paste or, in other words, to go stampless. The Jingle Belles O'Little Town of Bethlehem Challenge is asking for Christmas cards featuring a home. So, I paired up some snowflake and stitched dies with some igloo, penguin, and husky dog stickers that came in a Simon Says Stamp goodie bag to create a card that I think works for both challenges.

Doodlebug Design polar pals dp; Simon Says Stamp, Stampin' Up! cardstock
Doodlebug Design polar pals coordinating stickers
SU/Sizzix embossing folder
Lawn Fawn mini snowflakes and Paper Smooches stitched dies; SU banner punch
circular snowflake centers punched from Recollections silver glitter paper with SU punches
adhesives: Scotch ATG; Zig 2-way pen; Recollections foam squares

Lots of credit for this card goes to Shari Carroll. Much of the design is a CASE of one of Shari's cards, replacing stamped images with dies and or embossing. The penguin is the only purple element on the card and, to draw attention to the igloo,  I purposely placed him in front of his igloo. That's also the reason that snowflakes with glittery centers were placed on and around the igloo.

There's a good chance this little card is going to SAS4Kids.

Send a Smile 4 Kids

Speaking of SAS4Kids, I've been getting quite a few cards for Nationwide Children's. It's always interesting how card making seems to pick up as soon as summer comes to a close. :)

Yesterday, I received a wonderful box of 72 cards from Sharon Huffman of KS. Sharon used to make cards for Operation Write Home and just recently came across SAS4Kids.... and I'm so thrilled she chose to send cards to Nationwide Children's. Thanks so much, Sharon!

Parting Thoughts

A Fall Colors 4 Kids Challenge started up today at Send a Smile 4 Kids, and a new challenge started at Words 2 Craft By on Wednesday. There's still a little less than a day to play along with the For the Kids Challenge at Cards in Envy before a new challenge posts on Monday.

Looks like it's going to be a while before the football game kicks off. Hope I can stay awake. LOL

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
