Today, I have a quick project to share... as well as a few Thankful Thursday thoughts.
A Quick Housewarming Gift
So, we had a family move in to a house on our cul-de-sac on Tuesday. This is MEGA news in our neighborhood -- seriously MEGA!
Why, you ask? Well, there are four houses, and the families in three of those houses have lived in their respective houses for 30+ years each. Seriously! And, yep, we're one of those families, living in our place for almost 31 years.
An event of this magnitude calls for seriously good treats. So, I went to Gigi's and did a quick wrapping project, which included making a gift tag for the box.
- Tying some SU crumb cake tulle ribbon around the box.
- Made a quick tag: cut an oval form SU crumb cake, punched a hole in the top with an EK punch, pulled a piece of SU linen thread through the hole; inked the tag's edges with some Distress Ink picked raspberry, stamped a sentiment from the Winnie & Walter big bold Christmas set on two strips in DI black soot, attached a vellum house (from some a big vellum home-sayings sheet, gifted from a friend) and a few stash sequins with Ranger multi medium matte.
Thankful Thursday
Fall begins today! Sooo many wonderful things come with the fall season, including the start of a new television season. A new TV season brings the anticipated return of favorite shows and the promise of new ones -- two things for which I am thankful. But, why are there so many good things on at the same time on Thursday and Sunday evenings. LOL Thank goodness for DVRs!
Parting Thoughts
A quick reminder that our Every Child Deserves a Champion Challenge is going on at Words 2 Craft By. In addition to a Guest Designer opportunity for the winning entry, there are MFT gift certificates up for grabs to a randomly chosen participant and a randomly chosen follower. We'd love for you to stop by and play along.
Have a nice Friday and a wonderful weekend!
Love this Sybrina! Such a pretty gift and tag!
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet to make the new folks entering the cul de sac feel welcome! Your wrapping and tag are delightful, Sybrina! We, too, have been in our home for years, in fact it was 40 years in May! Now we are the only geezers left on all sides and up and down the street as the whole neighborhood has "turned over." As it does and as it should do. Forty years ago, we were the "kids" moving in! We are thankful that we found such a wonderful street because when we bought we had no idea what to even look for in a neighborhood. Someone was looking out for us! And BTW, I join in your thanks for DVRs and have had the same question for at least five years: WHY is everything I like on either Thursdays or Sundays?! I mean, there are SEVEN days in the week, people!! Hugs, Darnell
