W2CB #35: Small Hearts with Huge Gratitude

Hi, everyone! Welcome to a Words 2 Craft By Wednesday.  :)

Our inspirational words for the next few weeks come to us from the Hundred Acre Wood.

Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart,
it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude. ~~ A. A. Milne

For my card project, I made a thank-you bookmark for a friend.

Stampin' Up! brown core; Distress Ink peeled paint core; stash cardstock
computer-generated sentiment printed on Creative Memories bountiful dp
Paper Smooches wave and leaves dies, leaves inked in DI walnut stain using SU sponge dauber
Spellbinders Nestabilities scallop die; SU owl builder punch (for tiny circles)
SU linen thread; stash button; Really Reasonable Ribbon lace
adhesives: Scotch ATG; Ranger multi medium matte; Zig 2-way pen

I decided to make bookmark for two reasons. For starters, I was completely out of card ideas. More importantly, I wanted to do something for a librarian who has become a good friend... and is a huge Disney fan... and helps me with SAS4Kids.

I was trying for shabby chic look since this is one of my friend's favorite styles. What do you think? Shabby chic'ish?

My bookmark was inspired by bookmark shown at right, which I found on Pinterest. I loved the look of the button, scallop, and ribbon.

This month, there are two ways to win.
  • The challenge winner will receive $10 to Simon Says Stamp and a Guest I-Teamer invitation.
  • In addition, a follower will be randomly chosen to receive $10 to SSS.

I'd say SSS gift certificates are something to be thankful for.... and good reasons to play along with us at Words 2 Craft By. Hope to see  you over at W2CB!!!

Parting Thoughts

Think I'll link this up to the current Gobble 'Til You Wobble Challenge over at Shopping Our Stash

See you tomorrow at Thankful Thursday. Until then, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'.  :)

  3. Hi Sybrina! What a terrific gift idea...your bookmark is beautifully done with wonderful colors. I just bought a hardback book to get back to basics. I miss touching pages ~ the Kindle is just not the same. I may have to make myself one!!
