A Sight for Sore Wintery Eyes

Hi, everyone!

This week, the Shopping Our Stash gals are asking us to make non-wintery cards featuring the color blue for their Winter Blues Challenge. What a fun idea!

Since I'm doing a little on-the-road crafting, I have Distress Inks, Stampin' Up! card stock, and about twenty Prismacolor pencils. So, I've had to do a little creative crafting to come up with a background blue and a flower blue that go well together. And, then stenciling on a non-white background added required an extra layer of creativity. The picture doesn't quite capture the true color of the blues, but it's not too far off.

All in all, think the results turned out pretty well.

Stampin' Up! crumb cake, tempting turquoise, rich razzleberry
SU Basket Bunch images, stamped in SU tip top taupe and colored with Prismacolor pencils
SU Basket Builder dies; Paper Smooches stitched die
SU decorative mask inked in Distress Ink peacock feathers, applied with Ranger blending tool
I used a stenciling technique that Kristina Werner shared a couple of weeks ago. In addition, I decided to just apply the stenciling and stitching effect to the top left corner, offsetting the location of my little flower arrangement. (Pardon the creative license I took with that sweet little daffodil. All in the nameof a good challenge.) Finally, I started with a linen bow, but felt there needed to be another pop of color. (Hope that doesn't disqualify me over at SOS. LOL)

Think that's it for tonight.

Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'. Have a great week!
