Twofer #2: Hearts

Hi, everyone! I know.... two posts in one night. For whatever reason, the mojo's been flowing this past week... and I'm going with the flow.

I'm back to share two cards inspired by Darnell's second Twofer Card Challenge. The theme this time around is Hearts.

The following are the shared elements on both cards:
  • My Favorite Things pierced heart die and stitched rectangular die,
  • Stampin' Up! greatest greetings sentiment stamped in MFT black licorice,
  • SU whisper white baker's twine,
  • Cuttlebug Swiss dot embossing folder,
  • foam backing to pop both front panels, and
  • stash white cardstock.

As for the card differences... In addition to creating two distinct designs -- using hearts as balloons and flower petals, I also:
  • used dp from two different sources: Card 1: MFT trail mix; Card 2: Graphics45 celebration
  • heat embossed the sentiment on Card 1, using Versamark and Simon Says clear powder
  • used stem, leaves, and grass images from SU basket bunch on Card 2.
Know when you have a couple of keepers? When both you and hubby like the cards.  :)

Thanks, Darnell, for a great blog challenge concept... and another great prompt.

Parting Thoughts

A new challenge started yesterday at Words 2 Craft By. Hope you'll join us for some kisses-snowflakes-blizzard-inspired fun.  :)

Until next time, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!

  2. You can certainly see that the Mojo is flowing. What gorgeous cards, so pretty, so beautifully designed and such a clever idea to use the heart die for the flower head. Great use of the designer paper and love the texture on the dry embossing too. Wonderful cards...Thank you x

  3. Love the idea of this heart shape as pretty balloons with the thread holding the hearts earthbound. Also think it's very pretty used as a single flower blossom, and I like the idea that you carried over the thread as a border tie on card #2. TFS

  10. These are so precious, Sybrina, and definitely keeper designs! I love your patterned hearts as balloons and that single flower is so sweet and pretty! I know you did it last month, so I think you just forgot for a minute that we also need to see the cards are intended for two clearly different occasions. They're still delightful cards to cheer up two someones! Thank you so much for your support and for playing along in Twofer Card Challenge #2!! Hugs, Darnell
