Card-Drive Cards

Hi, everyone! Short and sweet today. I'm sharing two cards made for a couple of card drives.
  • The birthday card was requested by the mother of a young man with cerebral palsy. Please click here to learn more if you would like to send a card for this drive.
  • The hugs card is for a woman who has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Her daughter would love for her mom to receive cards to lift her spirits and brighten her days. If you are interested in sending a card, please contact me by PM or e-mail

Canson watercolor; Recollections black
Distress Inks applied with Ranger blending tool
(left card: tumbled glass/peacock feathers/mustard seed; Stampin' Up! mask/stencil)
(right card: mustard seed/spiced marmalade/fired brick)
Winnie & Walter big, bold cutaways and sentiment stamps
sentiment heat embossed in DI black soot
Stampin' Up! owl builder punch for top right corner embellishments

Both cards were made using the inlaid technique shared by Jennifer McGuire during the recent Background Online Card Class.
  • What a great class! To make sure the sentiments popped, the cutaways are two-ply and the typewriter-like text is heat embossed.
  • Since the birthday card is going to a teenage boy, I wanted to stick with a blue background. But, I added the SU pattern (in mustard seed) to add a funky green element.
Will be back on Monday to share a card for the next CIE challenge. In the meantime, you have until Sunday to link up a card for the current CIE birthday party challenge. And, there are book-inspired and CAS 4 Kids challenges going on at Words 2 Scrap By and Send a Smile 4 Kids, respectively.

Have a great Friday! Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!

  1. I love the simple, yet colorful design of these cards with the big, bold, embossed sentiments! The soft pastel colors look perfect with the tiny black heart and circle embellishments too! I'm sure the cards will be enjoyed by each recipient!
