I really wanted Polly the Parrot to be the star of this card. So, I used bright Distress Ink papers for her and went tone-on-tone for the rest of the card. Since the color of the paper used for the pilings is pretty close to the background paper color, I placed a few waves behind the pilings. And, then I went with vellum for the message in a bottle -- again to avoid drawing attention away from Polly.
