There were several inspirations for the card below.
- Shopping Our Stash is hosting a "Put a Bird on It" challenge. I just love what Leslie does with SOS -- and it has been forever since I've played along at SOS... Inspiration #1!
- Mojo Monday posted an interesting tall and skinny sketch -- and I really want to get back to challenging myself with sketch challenges... Inspiration #2!
- My Favorite Things recently came out with some fun window stax dies. And, now that I am making cards for Send a Smile 4 Kids, I just had to get these to make riddle cards for these kiddies... Inspiration #3!
- Then, I wondered if I could incorporate all three of these ideas in one card... Inspiration #4!
As you can tell, I strayed from the Mojo Monday sketch in two ways. The first change is that I went with different sized squares instead of three equal-sized circles. This was to accommodate an MFT die that was large enough for the riddle. The second change is that I went with a standard A2 card for the card base since this card is going to a children's hospital, although I followed the spirit of the challenge with my card front. :)
I went with primary colors (red, yellow, blue) for this kiddie card.
And, I really like the way the riddle window worked with this sketch/design.
Lastly, a huge thanks goes to a friend from my working days who gave me tons of great supplies when she was cleaning out her craft room, including these fab papers... and maybe the stamps. Thanks again, Marcie! You have no idea how many times I use what you gave me. :)
Think I am also going to link this up to the Simon Says Stamp trio of color -- paper's a medium, right?! -- and make it colorful challenges. I'm also linking it up to the Send a Smile 4 Kids anything goes 4 kids challenge.
Parting Thoughts
There's a fun Cute and Cuddly challenge going on at Cards in Envy. And, I'm so excited about this month's talk-like-a-pirate challenge going on this month at Words 2 Scrap By! Kim at Paper Smooches is donating her adorable Ahoy, Me Hearty stamp set as our prize.
Okay, time to get back to those baby shower invitations I'm making for a friend. Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
Aw, thanks, and shucks. :D
ReplyDeleteLove the pop-up windows. And your color choices. And I always make A2 cards for the Tall & Skinny challenges. And you're allowed to switch up the shapes and sizes. I said so. :)
Such a clever design! Thank you for sharing your card with us this week for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. ~Michelle
