CIE Tickled Pink

Hi, everyone! It's a Cards in Envy Monday! Tickled Pink is the theme over at CIE these next couple of weeks. (And, no, you don't have to use those words on your card. They just happened to fit my SAS4Kids card perfectly!)

This is another card background inspired by last year's Background Online Card Class. And, like the Valentine I made for hubby, my goal was to create a dreamy ethereal background. I purposely applied DI picked raspberry heavier in some places than others, leaving a few sections inkless. And, I was actually tickled pink -- pun intended -- at the end result.   :)

I started by inking and embossing various sized circles around the card. I started with the biggest circle, stamping it at several random locations in Versamark and heat embossing before moving on to the next size smaller circle. I repeated this process until I felt I had achieved just the right number and variety of circles, overlapping circles from time to time.

The sentiment was computer generated, using the PS die to guide my font sizing and spacing. (Think the font is Andy.) I considered printing "PINK" in pink, but ended up sticking with all black text -- highlighting "PINK" by applying a little DI picked raspberry.

Finishing touches included mounting the background on black paper to pop the pink and adding a little sparkle with a glittery turquoise teal easel and some glittery turquoise teal accents.

Hope that an SAS4Kid little one at Nationwide Children's is tickled pink when she receives this card.
