Spring/Easter Cards 4 Kids

Hi, everyone!

Hope it's warmer in your neck of the woods. We had about 5 inches of snow... and, baby, it's cold outside. Brrr.....

I'm here tonight with a card for the current SAS4Kids challenge to make a spring or Easter card. At least, I hope this qualifies for the challenge since my sentiment does not explicitly mention spring or Easter. All I know is that here in Ohio, blooming flowers mean spring. ANd, boy do we need some blooming flowers soon.

My Mind's Eye lime twist dp; Canson watercolor paper
Bazzill pink and Recollections black cardstock
Penny Black image, colored with Prismacolor pencils
Spellbinders Nestabilities scallop die, inked with StazOn jet black and accented with gold Uniball pen
stash vellum sentiment; Sizzix embossing folder
Stampin' Up! flower punch; Paper Studio and stash garage sale brads
adhesives: Scotch ATG; Recollections foam squares; Zots glue dots; Ranger multi medium matte

I used a Penny Black Labour of Love stamp that shows three scenes. I just couldn't find a way to use all three scenes in an A2 card without including an image on the inside. However, we try to keep SAS4Kids cards blank on the inside -- to allow plenty of room to write a personal message to the card recipient. So, I chose to omit the middle scene... and I think this works okay.

Parting Thoughts

There's a new Words 2 Craft By challenge posting tomorrow. Hope you'll stop by and play along.

Stay warm. Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!

  2. Thanks, Diane! I, too, love the hedgehog images, but have only recently started coloring... so I'm finally using them on my cards. :)

  3. Adorable card, and I see someone else likes Penny Black's hedgehogs! This makes for a sweet spring card and will certainly brighten a child's day if you decide to donate it.

  4. Adorable! I love the Penny Black critters!!! Great job on the coloring, and I think the 2 scenes work just great! :) I think I remember you from OWH. If so, glad to see you found another outlet for your artistry! ~ Andrea

  5. Thanks, Andrea! Yep, that's me from OWH days. Thought you were a former OWHer, too. It's great to see so many of us making cards for SAS4Kids. :)
