happy for you

Hi, everyone! Happy March! I remember always drawing smiley faces on my classroom attendance slips on March 1 -- celebrating the end of another Ohio February.

I'm here today with a quick post for the current Shopping Our Stash White Out Challenge. This week, we have been asked to shop our stash to make a card without a hint of white paper.

Canson watercolor paper; Recollections and Bazzill black cardstocks;
Stampin' Up! vellum; SU decorative mask
heat embossing with Versamark ink and Inkadinkado gold embossing powder
Distress Inks (salty ocean and peacock feathers?) applied with Ranger blending tool
Winnie & Walter big, bold sentiment in StazOn jet black
SU flower punch; adhesives: Scotch ATG and Zots glue dots

I actually made this background several months ago for another challenge. While I loved the way the background turned out, it didn't feel quite right for that particular challenge. So, I put it aside.... remembering it today.

The original inspiration for the background -- and the idea to use a vellum sentiment strip with pretty, colorful backgrounds -- came from the Background Online Card Class. Instructors also shared the tip to use embellishments to hide adhesives.

Yep, this one's short and sweet. As always, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
