Spring Cards 4 Kids

Hi, everyone!

Happy weekend! It's sure to be a wonderful weekend if you're a college basketball fan.  :)

Spring Cards 4 Kids

Yep, this blog's been kind of quiet this week. The reason.... is pictured below. I've been hard at work getting a box of SAS4Kids cards ready to send to Nationwide Children's.

The Spring Box of SAS4Kids Cards Headed to Nationwide Children's!!!

stash Jillibean paper; DI scattered straw
Recollections black and white
Peeny Black stamp
Really Reasonable Ribbon ribbon
Seemed to me you couldn't have enough Easter/Spring cards for these little ones. So, I made six paper-pieced chick cards -- which took much longer than I anticipated -- like the two shown, and six Easter egg cards  -- which went went much faster... thankfully!

Stampin' Up! work of art stamp
Cuttlebug swiss dot ef
Martha Stewart butterfly punch
SU inks; various SU and stash paper
I started out stamping these little chicks on some Distress Ink core paper because I planned on making some quick tag cards. However, the tags seemed flat and uninteresting. So, I stamped the chicks on some white cardstock and cut out the chicks. Better... but good enough for me to stop. Of course not. Nope, the paper piecing was on in full force. After the six chicks were done, I mounted the tags on complementary paper and added some complementary ribbons. Final touches included black circles in the top left and bottom right to ground the cards and mounted the tags onto the bases with foam squares.

The egg cards were inspired by cards we made at Colette's Technique Tuesday. The swoosh in the SU Work of Art stamp set is perfect for decorating paper Easter eggs! I was sooooo appreciative that these cards came together so quickly.

After finishing off these sets of cards, as well as a few flowery cards, our SAS4Kids box was ready to send. And, it should be arriving at the hospital tomorrow.  :)

I'm thinking my little chicks could be called cute and cuddly. So, I'm linking them up to the current cute and cuddly challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog.

Parting Thoughts

Speaking of SAS4Kids, a new challenge starts tomorrow! Think this one is for boy cards. Gotta put that on my to do list.

The Beautiful Butterfly Challenge over at Cards in Envy runs until Sunday afternoon. And, folks certainly have linked up some pretty butterflies.

And, the Words 2 Craft By March Challenge is in full swing. Did I mention there are Simon Says Stamp gift certificates up for grabs for followers and participants? Hope you'll stop by and check out our She Began to Fly challenge.

Looks like there's a basketball game on our television set. Surprise, surprise! Time to check out some college hoops.  :)

Thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
