Thankful Thursday

Hi, everyone! Happy Thursday!

It's been a wonderful week, but not much of it has been spent in the menopause room. While I don't have a card to share, I do have a great topic for my Thankful Thursday post.

Thankful Thursday: Friends

This week, I've gotten to spend time with two long-time friends. Both Linda and Teresa are educators. So, we wanted to get together before each went back to their respective schools.

I am so thankful for their friendship and very happy we were able to squeeze in some end-of-the-summer visits.

• Linda and I met about thirty-five years ago as teachers in our first teaching assignments. Our shared experience lasted only two years when Linda moved back to Northwest Ohio to be closer to family. However, we've stayed in touch all these years and make a point of getting together three or four times a year. For our most recent get-together, Linda came down this way for an overnight visit. Good times were had eating and shopping at Easton, shopping for school supplies, discussing politics in a refreshingly civil tone, and munching on popcorn while viewing The Secret Life of Pets at the local theater.
• Teresa and I have also known each other for thirty years or more, meeting as a result of a church program. Ironically, Teresa was in the corporate world before becoming a teacher, while I entered corporate America following twenty-four plus years in the classroom. Between Teresa's corporate and school careers, she was a stay-at-home Martha-Stewart-like mom... who gave gifts like homemade baked goods and hand-knitted scarves. Today's adventure found us attending an exhibit of costumes and jewelry designed by Edith Head and her Paramount contemporaries.
