Hubby and I were vacationing in Hilton Head and decided to come back to Ohio while the getting out was good. Tonight, I'm thankful that:
- my hubby is obsessed with watching the Weather Channel and, after hearing the reports, went into protective mode,
- we left before the mandatory evacuations and had an uneventful road trip home, and
- our South Carolinian friends have evacuated safe and sound.
Upon arriving hone, I found three boxes of cards for the kids at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Huge thanks to Vivian, Joyce, and Corine!
Today's Wild Card videos were all about shaker cards. So many great ideas. so little time... LOL
I have to say that it was pure joy to spend a relaxing, stress-free afternoon inking up cutie pie stamps and fiddling with sequins. It's been a pretty stressful couple of days around here, and I am so thankful to be able to play with paper this afternoon.
For the card below, I used some MFT Window STAX to make a surprise shaker card for a former colleague in need of a pick-me-up.

I'm thrilled with the overall look of the card, and really happy to have a new way to use those window stax dies. That said, I'm thinking I should have included a floor for our pup and his puppy things on the front of the card... and maybe added a little something more inside the shaker element.
The one really "brave" thing I did -- LOL -- was cutting the "SOME DAYS..." sentiment into two strips. I know lots of crafting uber-stars tell us to do that. But, this was my first time to alter a stamp set sentiment. It was sooooo much easier to ink up this way.
East Coasters, be safe! For everyone here, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'.
It really is terrible what is happening at the East coast. :( I hope it'll be over soon! I'm glad you are safe. Thumbs up for your hubby for paying attention to weather report.
