Thankful Thursday (x3)

Our neighborhood. SAS4Kids Cardmakers. Shari Carroll and Kim Hughes. These are the things for which I'm grateful this Thankful Thursday.  :)

Our Neighborhood

It seems impossible, but we've actually lived in this neighborhood for 31 years this month. Wow! Needless to say, it's a wonderful place to live.

One of the reasons we love it is our neighborhood association. It's not one of those nightmarish associations. We love the activities that the association sponsors. Activities like the Easter Egg hunt, Santa visits... and the Halloween parade!

On the Sunday before Halloween, the kids gather in our cul-de-sac before being escorted by a fire or sheriff vehicle as they parade to our little park. At the park, the kids are treated to a costume competition and plenty of refreshments. After the parade, kids trick or treat for a couple of hours.

Unfortunately, there was a little rain before the parade got underway.
However, the skies cleared in time for the parade itself and trick-or-treating.  :)

SAS4Kids Card Makers

Our SAS4Kids card makers are the best! Today, I received some adorable cards from Sherry Hickey. Thanks so much, Sherry, for thinking of the kids at Nationwide Children's.  :)

Shari Carroll and Kim Hughes

Whenever I'm in need of craftspiration, there are a few uber talented folks who always get my mojo going. Sandy Allnock, Jennifer McGuire, Kristina Werner, and Tim Holtz are on this list. So, are Shari Carroll and Kim Hughes.

Today's card was inspired by: 1) a card Shari shared in last year's Holiday Style Online Card Class and 2) a few of Kim's Paper Smooches stamp set.

Strathmore watercolor paper, spattered in Distress Ink hickory smoke and evergreen bough
Stampin' Up! vellum; Doodlebug Design Polar Pals dp; stash gray
Paper Smooches Crystal Clear and Botanicals 2 images
Paper Smooches Just a Note sentiment
images and sentiment heat embossed with Versamark and Stampin' Up! white powder
Really Reasonable Ribbon silver thread; Lucy's Things Antique Christmas sequins
adhesives: Scotch ATG; Zots glue dots; Ranger multi medium; Recollections foam squares

I'm linking this up for the Paper Smooches Guest Designer Search. As I always say, hope springs eternal.

I'm also going to share it for the Thinking of You Challenges over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday Challenge blogs. I hope it's okay to link up a card with a non-thinking-of-you sentiment. Even though I decided to go with this hello-friend sentiment instead, this is definitely a card that will go to a friend in need of a pick-me-up.  :)

Have a great weekend! And, thanks for stopping, happy scrappin'!
