Food Trucks on Parade!

Hi, everyone! Hope it's been a good {short} work week.  :)

I have a sorta-Mardi-Gras-inspired card to share tonight. But first, a few Thankful Thursday thoughts.

Thoughtful Thursday

I've talked before about my favorite theater. The Coligny Theatre is an indie movie house that's about a 3-minute walk. It is a one-screen theater that is often manned by a single person (one person sells the tickets, whips up your concessions, and then starts the movie) where you can get $5 tickets, $3 popcorn -- crazy delicious popcorn, and $3 drinks.

This week, it's running the 2017 Oscar-nominated shorts -- live action and animated. That's right all Oscar-nominated 10 movies! For a mere $5, I was thoroughly entertained by the artistry and creativity of ten filmmakers from around the globe. Over 3.5 hours of glorious movie-watching fun!!!

Hot Dog! It's a Food Truck Parade....

... and that can only mean one thing. It's PARTY time!!!

There's a Mardi Gras Challenge going on over at Shopping Our Stash. How fun!

However, my travel stash doesn't have any mask stamps, feathers, or beads. Happily, it has that new --- and totally adorable -- Tasty Trucks stamp set from Stampin' Up! I don't know about you, but nothing says party like a fleet of food trucks. In keeping with the SOS theme, I went with a Mardi Gras color palette: green, gold, purple... and a touch of orange.  :)

Neenah Soler white; Stampin' Up! whisper white and basic gray; Simon Says Stamp purple
SU tasty trucks, stamped in Distress Ink black soot and colored with Prismacolor pencils
Tim Holtz stencil in DI scattered straw, applied with Ranger blending tool
tiny star: ??? stash star corner rounder
adhesives: Scotch ATG; Zig 2-way glue pen

Not sure if this is going to be a birthday card for my brother or nephew... or go to an SAS4Kids patient at Nationwide Children's. Either way, I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out and think it will bring a smile to its recipient.

In addition to sharing this at SOS, I'm going to link it up to the Simon Says Transport It and Anything Goes Challenges.

Parting Thoughts

If you're making a Mardi Gras card for SOS, you might just want to link it up over at Words 2 Craft By too. That's right. there's a Mardi Gras challenge going on at W2CB through Wednesday. Hope to see you over at W2CB.

Have a great Friday! Until next time, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!

  6. Hey, you! I came back for another look, and I didn't see my comment... what the heck! Maybe (likely, lol) I was distracted! Anyway, I do love the way you've used MG colors-- they work perfectly with these cute food trucks! Thx for being so faithful at SOS, I love to see your work!
