keep on swimming

Hi, everyone! Happy holiday weekend!

Today's card was inspired by the current My Favorite Things sketch.

I tend to gravitate towards the CAS camp of card making, which is why I love MFT Sketches so much. When I saw those six matching elements, I looked through my travel-sized stash to see what I could use. Then I came across a scallop/wave die... and had the idea to make a mini ocean of swimming fish.  :)

Stampin' Up! tip top taupe, Bermuda bay, tempting turquoise
SU vellum; Distress Ink spiced marmalade
Paper Smooches courteous cuties stamp set and coordinating dies
PS sentiment masked and heat embossed in DI black soot with clear embossing powder
vellum stamped in StazOn jet black and inked in DI peacock feathers, mowed lawn, and vintage photo
SU embossing powder; PS scallop/wave die
adhesives: Scotch ATG; Miracle Tape; Zots glue dots; foam backing; Xyron tape

I'm also going to share this at the Simon Says Use Your Favorite Tool Challenge. While my Big Shot, SU trimmer, and Scotch ATG tape runner are cloooooose behind, this card wouldn't have turned out nearly as well without my MISTI.

Something tells me these little fish are going to an SAS4Kids little one at Nationwide Children's.  :)

Parting Thoughts

Big thanks to everyone who's played along at Words 2 Craft By! There's still time to link up a Celebration/Mardi-Gras-inspired card/project for our current challenge. Hope to see you there.

Enjoy the weekend... hopefully a 3-day weekend!

Until next time, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'.
