{Poster} Tidings of Great Joy

Hi, everyone! Hope your week's going well.

It's been a busy one around here. Between helping out with preparations for the local library's summer reading program finale, staying current on that online Hitchcock course I'm taking -- more on that in a future post, and last night's stamp club, it's been tough to find card-making time. But, at long last, I have a card to share.

Today's card is inspired by the current CAS-ual Friday Christmas in July Challenge.

Stampin' Up! crumb cake base; stash Chatterbox vellum, over Distress Ink brushed sage core paper
CTMH poster tidings sentiment stamp, inking in MFT gumdrop and DI fired brick
gold border, heat embossed using Versamark and Recollections gold powder
Really Reasonable Ribbon gingham ribbon
adhesives: Scotch ATG; Miracle Tape; Zots glue dots; foam backing; Ranger multi medium

The inking/stamping was a little tricky. The stamp actually inks the negative background, and I had to be rather precise to create the red stripes. I inked red stripes on the paper and then applied green ink to the stamp. I was a little surprised at the two-tone red ink effect... and I think I like it. LOL

I'm also going to share this over at the Simon Says Work It Wednesday July 2017 Challenge -- to add sparkle. Hoping the gold embossing counts.  :)

Parting Thoughts

Our July/August Challenge is still open at Words 2 Craft By. Stop by for a chance to win $10 to your favorite online store.

Gonna have to leave soon for tonight's library reading program finale. So, until next time, thanks for stopping and happy scrappin'!
